How to support your child at home
Here are some useful tips for how you can support your child's learning at home.
- It is important that you read with your child regularly at home. This ideally should be a mixture of them hearing you read and listening to them read. This can be done at bedtime when you share a story or through their school reading book.
- In Year 4 the children will take a times tables test, times tables are a crucial part of our mathematics curriculum, regular practise of this at home will support your child's learning.
- When you visit the shop, ask your child to pay using coins or notes. They will have to use their maths skills to work out how much they need to spend and how much change they will receive.
- Spend time with your child watching documentaries or using the internet to research interesting facts about topics we are learning in school.
