School starts at 8:50am and ends at 3:10pm. You will have a 5 minute window for your child to enter and exit the building. After this times, you will have to deliver and collect your child from the school offer so please try hard to get your child to school on time and to collect them promptly.
If your child is absent please ring the school office in the morning to let us

Play times and Dinner time
During lunch time children can chose to have a packed lunch from home or a school dinner in the dinner hall with the other children. Please remember that ‘Universal Free School Meals’ stop at the end of Year 2. If you are eligible for ‘Free School Meals’ please ensure you complete a ‘Free School Meal’ application form (available from the school office). In readiness for September, please complete these as soon as possible.
Once your child has finished their lunch, they will get the opportunity to play with their friends on the playground.
During the morning playtime the children can buy a slice of toast for 20p. Toast is limited to one per child and the children are responsible for their own money. Please try to send in the correct change.
Water bottles: All children are provided with a Beacon water bottle which they can access throughout the day and refill with fresh drinking water.
Your child is expected to wear the Beacon Primary School uniform.
This consists of:
- White shirt
- Grey trousers/skirt/pinafore dress
- Red sweatshirt/cardigan
- Red and black clip on tie
- Red and white checked summer dress
- Sensible black shoes
As a special treat on their birthday the children can come to school in their own clothes.
Please write your child’s name in each item of clothing so that we can return any lost items.
Your child will be doing PE twice a week (Monday & Thursday)
Please ensure that your child has their full PE kit in school every day. They can take it home at weekends or at the end of a half term for washing.
This should consist of:
- A ‘Beacon’ t-shirt in their house colour
- A pair of pumps or trainers
- Black shorts
