Walsall Admissions Policy

Reception and Key Stage 1

Children are admitted to school at the beginning of the Academic Year in which they become 5 years old, provided a school place is available.

The school operates a maximum intake of 45 in all Key Stage One classes. The order of priority for entry to reception classes will be applied to children who are aged 5 between 1st September and the  following 31st August in the admission year as follows:

  • Children with a brother or sister who will still be attending the school;
  • Children with a brother or sister who will still be attending a Junior school on the same site or nearby (this will only apply to Infant school admissions);
  • Children living in the Initial Allocation Area;
  • Children living outside the Initial Allocation Area with priority determined by distance from the school (as the crow flies).


Junior Department Key Stage 2

The admission priorities for children transferring from Infant School to a Junior school or Primary School will be:

  • Children with a brother or a sister who will be attending the school;
  • Children with a brother or a sister who will still be attending an Infant school on the same site or nearby (this will only apply to Junior school admissions);
  • Children living in the Initial Allocation Area;
  • Children living outside the Initial Allocation Area with priority determined by distance from the school (as the crow flies).
