There will be a topic project given out each half term where the children will be set an art or design task and will have a longer time frame to complete the activity.

Times table homework.

Year 4 are, as of this academic year, required to sit a times table test at the end of the year where they will be tested on their times tables knowledge of numbers up to 12. Therefore this year your child will be given a times table booklet to take home and complete. Each week , every child should complete one of the tests, following the order in the booklet. In the test they will sit in summer 2020 , the children will be given 5 minutes to complete the questions , so it would be great if you could time your child whilst they are completing each test.

Spelling

The children will be sent new spellings every Friday and will tested on these the following Friday. We practice these during English lessons, however it would great if the children could also practice at home. Below you will find a list of all the common exception words that children are expected to know how to spell by the end of year 4.
