Head Teacher of the Year – Mr Drew!

Mr Drew has been awarded a Silver Pearson Teaching Award as Head Teacher of the Year in Beacon Primary School.

The family of Beacon Primary School are celebrating the fantastic news that Headteacher, Mr Paul Drew, has won a Silver Teaching Award in the National Award for ‘Headteacher of the Year in a Primary School’.
The School organised a special assembly which was held on Thursday 28th June 2018 at 2.00 p.m. where Mr Drew was  given his Award by our local Walsall MP Mr Eddie Hughes and a special gift of an engraved glass which will be presented to Mr Drew by Connie Hayes, School Mayor, from all pupils, staff and Governors at Beacon Primary School. 
The Chair of the School Governors will say a few words about Mr Drew and the fantastic journey that Beacon Primary School have been on since Mr Drew became Headteacher four years ago. There were also Representatives from Walsall Education Services, family and other guests who have supported Mr Drew on this journey of excellence. 
Mr Drew of Beacon Primary School was Selected from thousands of nominations from across the country. 
Mr Drew  will now join fellow Silver Award winners, along with 3 Scottish Education Award winners and 3 winners of the Professional Teaching Awards Cymru, at the 20th UK Ceremony of the Pearson Teaching Awards, a glittering ceremony held in central London on 21st October. There they will find out which of them has won one of just 12 Gold Plato Awards, the UK’s “Oscars for Teachers”.
